Hi Almond,

Your agent sent me two of your CDS with a view to securing yourself a booking at the Butt of Sherry in Hythe.

Unfortunately they only do live music once a fortnight which is my ‘open stage’ night which does not feature booked artistes.

I enjoyed your albums immensely but felt I should pass them on to people who could be more supportive in securing you bookings.

I Phoned Kathy and Bob Drage who run ‘around Kent Folk mag’ and told them to expect your albums in the post with all the agents blurb.

This will hopefully lead to a review and some Kent gigs.

Good Luck and Best Wishes - Jack Pound.

Hello to my favourite ballad singer!

How are you ? I bet your singing career is really taking off again !

It was great to see you last April. I had a wonderful Summer working at Yellowstone Park again. Except for a couple of knee surgeries in the last year I am doing great.

I hope that 2008 will be a happy and prosperous year for you !

Best Wishes,
Rose

That's  Great News !  It made my day yesterday ! I am looking forward to receiving the CD Collection

Donna Cheetham who won the 'Entire Nut' CD collection

29........

hello
i'm sorry you left before we were able to say goodbye, me and the girls loved your show and you shouldn't be disheartened, our venue was out of the main scene and i dont think anyone got more than ten people - the average audience for this year because of the amount of acts was 4 and not 40 as i heard you were informed  your style is not outdated don't give up
much love and luck to you and yours  take care sweet

Hello Almond Delighted to here from you. Colin did actually give me an email address for you some time ago but I did not receive a CD. I must apologise for not having contacted you - the only excuse I have is a hectic family life! I am pleased to hear that you have made a CD of Dad's work  - it helps to know that many people did actually appreciate his words. I would love to hear it I read about you on the Internet somewhere while I was researching Dad's music - before your name was ever mentioned

The other small wrinkle I need to mention is that on Cindy's song, it's important to get the lyric right.  The correct reading is "Learning to see by the dark of the moon, as well as the light of the day."  I know it's a strange phrase, the "Dark of the moon," but it's that way on purpose.  It's paradoxical and poetic.  She's getting at the idea that it's important to be able to navigate in one's later life not so much by the sign posts, but more to rely on one's intuitive and spiritual senses.   Otherwise it's great!

24........

Almond, I'm sorry, I just can't participate. I'm completely snowed under
with deadlines right now.
Apologies for having taken up your time.
Best

Dear Almond

We would like to say thank you for the wonderful concert in our music
school. As our new homepage already began to work (We did not think that
this will appear until we are at least 200 years old), we decided to put all
photos to our website immediately. Hope you like them. And hope to hear from
you soon... http://www.ramos-schneider.ch/

Dear Almond,

Thank you for your reply.  As it happens, Cindy and I will be coming to Switzerland in October to play.  Our friend, Paul Rostetter who has the Brambus record label has released two CDs of our music for Europe.  This will be at least the fifth time that Cindy and I will have toured in Europe for Paul, and perhaps the ninth or tenth time for me........

All the best,

Steve Gillette

It was so great to hear from you, and to receive you CD.  I really enjoyed listening to it, and remembering 1971 when we met.
Such a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then.  We are now anticipating a visit to Switzerland. We will be going to Basingstoke tomorrow evening (Thursday) to hear Tom Paxton. His are still my favourite songs. My cousin in France also learnt to sing his songs (and play guitar) from me!
Have you seen the BBC Radio 2 'folk awards of the year 2005' website? Tom was awarded a Life Acheivment award - there are clips on the website. I am so envious of your experience in Newcastle. However, I am not surprised after hearing your CD - fabulous voice! Thanks for persisting with the contact - I apologise for not responding to a previous contact and to your phone number last week. Life is so busy, and quite stressful, at the moment. I am about to change Hospitals (again). Your letter and CD has lifted my mood immeasurably this week. I still play - once a month in our church band and most years at the Hospital Christmas Party.
It remains an important relaxation, but listening to music is still my priority. I look forward to catching up with 30 plus years,  and seeing you in the not too distant future.
Kindest regards and best wishes,
John

Hi Almond

What a lovely surprise to get your little package in the post today, and to hear you are back on the musical trail again !

Martin & Janette

6............

Thank you for asking, Almond. Sounds as if it would fit in.  And say hi to
Tom for me.  We certainly appreciate his being in our neighborhood, but of
course we never see him enough.

Hmm, Newcastle upon Tyne ... Isn't that where Lou Killen was from?  He
went back to England -- Gateshead, i believe.  If you should run into him,
say hello too.  I miss his presence.

It really is a small world, and folk music ties it together so nicely.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I am a believer
that positive energy begets positive energy and that
one plus one can equal three. So I am sending you the
same wish for your show in England and your future
endeavors. I'll drop you a line either during or after
the trip and give you an update.

Sincerely yours, Peter

thank you very much for the CD - I think it's a great record at should gain
increasing attention.

Best wishes from

1........    I just was at your homepage - great! ............
Wouldn't it be possible to make a Live CD of your concert with Tom Paxton?
May be you should find out about the possibilities, because I'm sure that
this would be a very nice CD...........

I just read the "Chronicles" by Bob Dylan, which was very interesting
although some parts (especially the description of the recording of "Oh
Mercy") seem to say: "look how good I am". But you can also find some
sentences about Tom Paxton. All in all I liked the book very much.
So for today...... Congratulations  from
Malte, Susi and Gert
