After a recent concert

..... 'real music with real feelings'.....'It was a pleasure to hear you and we look forward to see you again'.....'Thank you very much for the wonderful, emotional evening'.....'He has a good voice, and plays a passable guitar, but the point about a show by Almond Greenway is that you can have a fun and interesting time. He has been around, and had a rich and colourful life, and he knows how to share that with the audience between the songs, this is really where he scores over some of the younger performers talented though they might be.'

Foreman Institute

The gig at the Foreman Institute 5 April went very well there was a wide age range and for the first time Almond employed a computer to provide self composed backing tracks for some songs. The show was liked enough to produce a return gig in August.

The Royal Oak in Hawkhurst

12 April also went well, it is a  very nice place to play.

Tough Show in Affoltern

Sports Club near Affoltern in Switzerland 19 April, a difficult show, the audience were 'mature', for the main part Swiss German speakers. Almond began with 'American Pie' this went ok but it was obvious that spoken English was a problem. The first half was cut short. However, a few weeks before this show Almond and Charlie Widmer, a member of the club, had discussed the difficulties involved in this performance. Charlie had an idea of translating and explaining the content of the songs and also doing a short interview with Almond. So at the beginning of the second half Charlie started the interview, Almond was able to say a few words in Swiss German and explained that the only song he knew in Swiss German was 'Grudus Snachli' the story of a snail slowly going over a mountain, he sang it unaccompanied, it is to the tune of 'Ferra Jaques' and before long the old audience was performing 'A Round', the ice was broken and the second half went great with Charlie Singing with Almond 'Bridge Over Trouble Waters' to finish.
