In 1978 Matthew had his guitar altered; the wood between the frets, the metal lines on the neck of the guitar, were carved out so that Matthew could then play guitar touching only the strings. The reduced friction allows Matthew to produce sounds which seem to be like those from a Sitar. In this music club we feature Matthew playing his song 'Michelle's Star'.
